KC Adventures

I have lived in the Kansas City area almost my whole life. by now you would think that i would have experienced all the city has to offer. how wrong i was. this summer i have gone exploring. visiting new sights and restaurants. i have been amazed at what cool things there are to not only see but to do.

A few weeks ago, my dear friend olivia and i did some exploring down town...

We went to go see the Princess Diana exhibit. It was wonderful. i feel like i only saw one part of her life.. and i was amazed during the exhibit to the life she led.

here is a replica of her wedding cake. woah. i cant even imagine seeing that in person... ITS HUGE.

we ventured next to the river market where we were greeted by some delcious food.

first stop: harry's country club. it was a fun atmosphere and a simple, yet delicious menu.

go view their website and check it out and then go viist. you wont be disappointed.

and now to the best part, dessert.

that's right! cupcakes! if you haven't been to baby cakes you are MISSING OUT. im not a big sweet person, but these MELT in your mouth. check them out here
These two WONDERFUL places are right by each other... so this makes you want to go down to the river market now.... RIGHT?!

sharing delicious cupcakes with two of my beautiful best friends. seriously. they are SUCH a blessing in my life.

chocolate cake and peanut butter frosting. delicious doesn't even begin to describe it.
So while i hope that you are now convinced to go check out the river market. i have one last place to share, and i hope that this will solidify your decision to take a trip down there. that is the farmers market. fresh fruit and vegetables and fun cuisine all around. i love to have fresh fruit and veggies, so this place is perfect for me... BUT it is can also be so perfect for you! go on a saturday morning and go check out the fresh food and stop by a few tables and check out jewelry or art.... they have it all.

i hope you aren't tired of reading because i have one place left to share. and that is brookside. have you ever been there? its adorable. it is full of life and quaint little shops, restaurants etc. two places i just went to that are a MUST to try are....

1.  Blue Grotto: Jordan (the boy) and i went there for a date night. enjoyed a glass of wine, a salad and the best pizza i have ever had. now, i don't eat pizza a lot, so i think its kinda a big deal

here is our pizza: the pancetta pizza. thin crust but not flat and it didnt break. it remained light, fluffy and perfect. does it not look delicious?!  check the food out for yourself

2. Foo's Fabulous Frozen Custard (check them out here).  whenever i'm there i feel like i'm at home, it has fun atmosphere and i just love the custard. soo good AND its reasonably priced. and for a college student, that's great news!

i consider these few places just the beginning of my kc adventures. i used to always complain that KC had nothing to offer. how wrong was i?! i encourage you to go explore kc or even your own home town. youll be amazed by what it has to offer.

love and shalom.
